Depart 9.00am.  As we cross the range to the Macleay, we detour into the delightful coastal resort of Crescent Head following the Belmore River to the historic river port of Gladstone.  From here we take a scenic drive along the mighty Macleay River to South West Rocks, on Trial Bay.  We have lunch at the local Country Club and hear fascinating tales of the old gaol on Laggers Point as we show you the imposing ruins and the areas surrounding, which is now managed by National Parks & Wildlife as a mecca for the camping tourist.  On our journey home we visit the majestic Smoky Cape lighthouse then follow the west bank of the Macleay returning via Bellimbopinni and Frederickton through Kempsey, arriving home around 4.00pm
